Cobalt Treatment Centre contributes to nurse training
Following liaison and inspections by the University of
Northumbria, Cobalt Treatment Centre, in Newcastle, has been
formally recognised as a student placement option for nurses as
part of their three year training course.
The first student nurse, Alison Hartill, has now completed her
placement and commented: “This placement has provided me with an
invaluable insight into the independent sector, along with the
opportunity to compare and contrast private and public sector day
case facilities first hand.”
Cobalt Treatment Centre is also now recognised with the
University of Teesside for student ODPs and Rachael Jarvis, the
first student ODP, is half way through her one year placement.
Cobalt Treatment Centre is a modern purpose built day case
facility which is available to NHS patients, through medical
insurance schemes, and to patients who choose to pay for their own
treatment. Services include hernia repair, varicose vein treatment,
minor skin procedures, endoscopy and an increasing number of
private cosmetic surgery procedures.
