Mr Anderson is one of only a handful of surgeons in the country who carry out in excess of 120 urethroplasties (urethral stricture correction) per year. He is the acknowledged supra-regional expert in his field receiving tertiary referrals from central England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and has lectured both nationally and internationally on BXO/Lichen Sclerosis and the management of adult hypospadias problems.
He holds an honorary contract with the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, where he operates on servicemen who need his reconstructive skills.

| Academic background |
Mr Anderson qualified from Manchester with honours in 1994 and undertook general surgical training in New Zealand and the Mersey region prior to joining the West Midlands Urology specialist registrar rotation.
He gained further subspecialist interest in genito-urethral reconstructive surgery (GURS) through a recognised fellowship post in Leicester and the Institute of Urology, London, working for David Ralph and a travelling scholarship to Italy to work with Prof Guido Barbagli.
He was awarded the gold medal in the specialist urology exit exams.
Mr Anderson regularly lectures at national meetings, and has also lectured internationally, on GURS and has publications in the British Journal of Urology on this subject.
