NHS Services
Ramsay Health Care UK are the largest private provider of
surgical and diagnostics services to the NHS in the UK. Through a
variety of national and local contracts we deliver 1,000s of
episodes of care each month working seamlessly with other
healthcare providers in the locality including GPs, PCTs and acute
Trusts.
We currently have 9 dedicated Independent Treatment Centres
focussed on delivering surgical and diagnostics services and this
is complemented with a growing range of NHS service being delivered
by our private hospital network through out the UK.
Services are available to access via the Choose and Book system
or by direct manual referral.
Working with Primary care
Our aim is to understand local needs and work with primary care
staff to develop services which meet the requirements of the
locality.
Direct access to diagnostics, neuro-rehabilitation and triage
services are all things which we have setup at various locations in
response to local need.
Your local GP liaison staff and general managers are always keen
to discuss services, new ways of working and to develop care in the
frame work of practice based commissioning (PBC). Alternatively you
are welcome to contact our central business develop team if there
is not a Ramsay facility in close proximity to you.
Patient Choice
All Ramsay units are part of the Patient Choice scheme. The
services offered through these schemes vary from location to
location depending on local demand. We use local Consultants that
already have admitting rights with us and deliver the care in close
liaison with the PCT.
With Practice Base Commissioning becoming more active we are
also providing direct access to diagnostics and some surgical
services to streamline the patient pathway and support the patient
in the primary care setting.
Finally the third way in which we work as part of the NHS is to
offer spot contract work to Acute Trusts who from time to time
require support in delivering care in line with waiting time
targets.
