NHS Contracts
Ramsay currently manage two large government contracts for
surgical services:
The GC4 contract delivers 95,000 operations,
over five years through 11 centres from Newcastle to Bodmin.
The second major contract is E05 delivering 55,000 operations over five
years through seven centres in Cumbria and Lancashire.
All Ramsay units are part of the Patient Choice scheme. The services offered
through these schemes vary from location to location depending on
local demand. We use local consultants that already have admitting
rights with us and deliver the care in close liaison with the
PCT.
With Practice Base Commissioning becoming more active we are
also providing direct access to diagnostics and some surgical
services to streamline the patient pathway and support the patient
in the primary care setting.
Finally the third way in which we work as part of the NHS is to
offer spot contract work to Acute Trusts who from time to time
require support in delivering care in line with waiting time
targets.
