What everyone should know…
For anyone who has survived an acquired brain or spinal injury
or has a complex neurological condition, the ability to choose how
and where they live can sometimes be limited. For those living in
or within reach of Gloucestershire, The Dean Neurological Centre
provides superb accommodation and specialist services for people
with neurological disabilities or terminal illness. The much needed
unit is a brand new, purpose built facility with capacity for 60
adults.
Although privately owned and managed by Ramsay Health Care UK,
most of its residents are publicly funded either by their Primary
Care Trust (PCT), Continuing Health Care or Social Services.
Dedicated staff
The Dean is staffed around the clock with registered nurses and
trained carers who also work closely alongside an on-site therapy
team which includes physio and occupational therapists. Together
they hold a wealth of experience and knowledge and are actively
encouraged to spend time interacting with residents. Their aim is
to offer holistic care in a homely environment; to assist recovery
wherever possible and maximise each individual’s ability, comfort
and quality of life, plus other specialist clinicians/providers who
are available on a daily and ‘as needed’ basis.
