Ramsay Health Care wins the 2010 Independent Healthcare Award
for Public Private Partnerships
At a prestigious gala dinner ceremony at the London Hilton Hotel
the team from Ramsay won the high profile award for Public Private
Partnerships for their work on a successful partnership with
the NHS in Cumbria and Lancashire.
Ramsay Health Care won the award for leading a
unique independent sector collaboration with Spire Health Care and
Abbey Hospitals. This partnership with the NHS is unique as it is
the first time three independent sector companies have worked
together and then shared the detailed results and improvements in
Quality, Innovation, Prevention and Productivity (QUIP) with a
judging panel.
Over 37,000 patients have now received
consultations with an average referral to treatment time of only 23
days (well within 18 weeks).
The partnership is scheduled to deliver 55,000
procedures over five years.
The partnership with the NHS was first formed
in 2006 after a successful response to a tender for Orthopaedic,
General Surgery and ENT services.
Ramsay have now employed over 100 extra staff
across all sites, and Ramsay, Spire and Abbey have invested £8m in
facilities at Kendal Treatment Centre, Decon Hub, Euxton Hall
Hospital and Fulwood Hall Hospital with a new £5m state of the
art operating and inpatient facility at Kendal Treatment
Centre.
