A majority of patients believe GPs should do more to encourage
people to use their private health insurance

highlighted the need for a campaign to encourage more GPs to
encourage their patients to use their Private Health Insurance
(PHI) after recent research revealed that the majority of general
practitioners do not ask if a patient has Private Health
Insurance
Jill Watts CEO of Ramsay and Chair of NHS partners said;
'there is an opportunity for GPs, at a time when NHS
resources are tightening, to ask patients if they have Private
Health Insurance and then discuss their options including using
their PHI ’
