Essex hospitals support NHS Choice with Choose and Book
training
Ramsay’s two hospitals in Essex recently held Choose & Book
workshops for local GP practice staff. Oaks Hospital, in
Colchester, and Springfield Hospital, in Chelmsford, both held
‘Lunch & Learn’ workshops, followed by an excellent lunch, a
hospital tour, and an informative presentation by a Personal Image
Consultant, who offered advice on exploring clothing shades,
colours and shapes.
The workshops were organised by Karen Cole, Ramsay’s local GP
Liaison Officer, and Jeni Hough, Springfield’s Business Improvement
Manager. Both provided an opportunity for Choose & Book users
to network and share their experiences of the system. The events
were a resounding success, with several attendees swapping phone
numbers and agreeing to stay in touch to discuss any individual
issues they may experience with the system.
The Oaks workshop was run by Dale Cloete, Choose & Book
Support for North East Essex PCT. It was attended by 21 practice
staff, along with Sarah Carter from the North East Essex Clinical
Assessment Service, and Pat Harvey, Commissioning Manager for North
East Essex Primary Care Trust (PCT).
Pat Harvey said: “The event had been very well thought through,
and the presentation that Dale gave highlighted the areas where
practices had concerns. One of the nicest things about the event
was that the atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone felt
comfortable talking about the way they use the system, its good and
bad points and sharing ideas on how they have overcome certain
issues.”
