Mr Laurence Whitefield studied medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School graduating in 1989. He commenced his training in ophthalmology in 1991 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 1993.
He held a Registrar position at the Royal Free Hospital before moving to Senior Registrar positions at Charing Cross Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr Whitefield was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Surgical Training in 1999 and was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Queen Mary’s Hospital in September 1999.
