Social activities at Ramsay Neurological Services
Ramsay Neurological Services recognise that social,
spiritual and recreational activities provide an important
contribution to individuals' overall wellbeing and fulfillment. We
are committed to assisting residents to pursue past and new
interests within the context of both their and our abilities.
We have a dedicated full-time staff members who facilitate and
co-ordinate internal activities on both a group and individual
basis. Examples of activities undertaken include art and creativity
sessions, stimulation or relaxation sessions in our well equipped
multi-sensory rooms, film afternoons in our themed cinema lounge,
quizzes, reading, music and movement, board games and computer
access.
The centres host theme days based around calendar events, films,
topics of interest, etc. The theme is reflected in, for example,
décor, attire, food and live entertainment. If you would like to
maintain your religious observance within the centre rather than
going to a place of worship in the community, we will be happy to
assist you as necessary.
Examples of external activities undertaken include visits to
family and friends, places of worship, swimming in a hydrotherapy
pool (specially adapted for individuals with physical
disabilities), shopping, going to pubs, restaurants, theatres,
cinemas, sporting events, places of interest, libraries, and so on.
Transport can be provided via our fully adapted (wheelchair
accessible) minibuses and a staff escort can be provided if
necessary.
