Symptoms are very similar to that of traumatic brain injury
- Anoxic Brain Injury- where the brain does not receive any
oxygen (cells in the brain need oxygen to survive).
- Hypoxic Brain Injury - where the brain receives some oxygen but
not enough.
Examples of some Causes of ABI- airway obstruction, throat
swelling, choking, strangulation, crush injuries to the chest,
trauma to head and neck, Vascular disruption, heart attack, stroke,
aneurysm, intracranial surgery infections, Meningitis, Illegal
drugs, alcohol abuse.
