Accessing NHS Treatments in Cumbria and Lancashire
Ramsay Health Care UK (formerly Capio Healthcare UK) in
conjunction with the Department of Health and Primary Care Trusts
within the region are now providing elective surgery to NHS
patients in Cumbria and Lancashire.
This service has been designed to reduce and sustain shorter
waiting times for patients through additional capacity and
wider choice, whilst ensuring professional, clean environments that
deliver value for money.
Ramsay Health Care will provide this service from a number
of NHS Treatment Centres, working with partners in the Independent
sector.
The Treatment Centres are located in:
Through Choose and Book, we will offer patients the choice of
the above sites in the North of England for their outpatient
appointment or surgery. For their convenience, patients in North
Cumbria will also be able to book their consultation at the Caldew
NHS Outpatient Centre.

Caldew Outpatient Centre has facilities for outpatient services
and if elective treatment is needed, will arrange for patients to
be treated at the Woodlands Hospital in Darlington.
Kendal NHS Treatment Centre - Ramsay will open this purpose
built Treatment Centre at the Westmorland General Hospital in
Kendal in Spring 2008. In the meantime patients needing referral to
secondary care can now choose from the treatment centres
above.
