Dr Manas Datta is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in general paediatrics and paediatric gastroenterology
Paediatric allergy (particularly food allergy)
Dr Datta qualified from the prestigious Calcutta University in India. He subsequently completed MD (Doctor of Medicine) and DNB (Diplomate of National Board) in Paediatrics from India. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, London (FRCPCH). Dr Datta obtained his higher specialist training in Paediatrics from East of England Deanery (Cambridge). He joined Broomfield Hospital as a Consultant Paediatrician in 2010. Prior to this, Dr Datta was a Consultant Paediatrician in East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
Dr Datta is the Clinical Director for Children’s Services at Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust (Broomfield Hospital). He is also the Paediatric Gastroenterology lead. He is additionally the designated lead for child death review in Mid Essex (Mid Essex CCG). He is an examiner for both Royal College (MRCPCH) and undergraduate (MBBS) examination. Dr Datta was previously Royal College and undergraduate tutor. Dr Datta has presented at both national and international paediatric conferences and received awards, as well as being published in peer reviewed journals.
