My only issue is that as someone paying private, it is frustrating at the number of NHS patients who are being referred privately by the NHS. This obviously causes delays in getting an appointment and makes paying for private a bit of a joke.

Most nurses were amazing. Some were not so friendly. I had been out of surgery with a general for a few hours. Lovely lady nurse tried to get me to use the commode and I nearly fainted. She said that’s ok you are not ready. A man nurse arrived later and said I hear you want to use the commode. I said no as I am scared of fainting. He said no one faints on my watch. So he got me on the side of the bed. I was feeling awful I said I was but we continued and I fainted out cold. Next thing I wake up with 5 nurses in my room and one lady shouting at me to help myself and get back into bed. It was not great. I also said to the nurse that anything coedene based made me ill and did not work. This one nurse insisted I had codene the first night. I pressed the buzzer and said it wasn’t working and she told me that’s all I could have- was I refusing pain relief? And then she said I could have a suppository but after the moving for the commode I decided to suffer in silence. I spent the first night in floods of tears and awake in pain. The next morning another lovely nurse gave me morphine which worked.

Always a pleasure to attend New Hall despite the circumstances. Staff are friendly and welcoming, it’s a clean, calm environment and there is a free coffee machine.

I had a total shoulder replacement in April, performed by Mr. Elmorsy and team at New Hall. This was a very smooth procedure from start to finish, friendly and efficient. I am progressing well, the Physiotherapy there post-surgery has been excellent.

I arrived in time and was directed clearly to the radiography department. The staff were very pleasant and engaging. Thereafter I was directed to the outpatient department where details were checked and forms printed. Clear instruction was given on what was required on any subsequent visit. A little too officially, perhaps. Obviously there have been recurring problems experienced at reception.
