Woodland Hospital offers a Rapid Access Gallstone Clinic run by Consultant General, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon Mr. D Malde, specialist in gallbladder surgery.

This clinic provides a detailed clinical assessment, access to ultrasound (if required), enabling diagnosis and a treatment plan quickly, without any waiting lists.

If you have already had an ultrasound showing gallstones, you can discuss treatment options with the consultant.

The clinic will be suitable if you are suffering from the following symptoms:

  • Pain in the mid or upper-right section of the abdomen
  • Pain after meals especially eating fatty foods
  • Jaundice
  • Dark urine and pale stools
  • Suffering with nausea or vomiting
