Winfield Hospital is one of Gloucestershire's leading private
hospitals, located on the outskirts of the City of Gloucester. It
is situated off the Northern Ring Road with excellent road and rail
links. The hospital opened in 1992 and currently has 45 beds
including three twin-bedded rooms all with en-suite facilities.
By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers
a wide range of treatments and services. The two fully equipped
theatres, with ultra clean air technology, are particularly
suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy,
hip and knee replacement. The day unit is also suitable for minor
operations and endoscopy.
Treatments at the hospital
Treatments at the hospital include colonoscopy, hernia surgery,
cataract surgery, wisdom tooth removal, hip resurfacing, birmingham
hip resurfacing, varicose veins treatment (including EVLT,
VNUS closure and Foam Sclerotherapy) and snoring sleep studies /
clinic.
Surgery can be arranged for children over three years of age.
They are nursed by RSCN's (Registered Sick Children's Nurses) and
accommodated in child friendly rooms with parent accommodation.
Surgical procedures include; squint correction, hernia repair,
circumcision, tonsillectomy and insertion of grommets.
Competitively priced cosmetic surgery is also available for a
wide range of procedures including breast enlargement, tummy tuck,
liposuction and facial surgery by our consultant led service.
Hospital facilities
Direct dial telephone, Sky TV and radio are available in all
rooms for you and your visitor's comfort. Meals are served in your
room and comprise a superb selection of dishes, all freshly
prepared. Free car parking and disabled access is also
available.
Diagnostic facilities include an imaging department with on site
x-ray, ultrasound, and dental x-ray equipment. MRI, CT and
DEXA scanning services are supplied by Diagnostic mobile units. The
Hospital also has a well equipped outpatient department with 11
consulting suites.
Treatment facilities include an on site physiotherapy department
staffed by chartered physiotherapists. It has a fully equipped
gymnasium, isokinetic equipment, TLO1 Booth (ultra violet B
treatments) and offers a continence service. Dr Rod Jaques, full
time sports injuries Consultant retained by the British Olympic
Association, utilises these facilities conducting his clinics from
a dedicated sports injuries suite.
An on site pharmacy registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical
Society of Great Britain also provides private prescriptions for
outpatients and inpatients.
