I had bilateral cataract surgery under General Anaesthetic at Oaks Hospital last week. From my first consultation with Mr Chrys Dimitriou, through pre-assessment with a wonderfully kind and understanding nurse (Mihaela) and my admission and care last week, I cannot fault my experience. I am a very anxious patient -despite having a background in Health- but my fears were unfounded. The care I received was exceptional, the nurse who looked after me in the day unit (Katy) was very kind and compassionate and had read all my information regarding adjustments I needed (documented and shared by Mihaela) which was highly reassuring. The theatre team went above and beyond to make my experience comfortable and I felt very safe and able to be involved in decisions about my care. Special thanks to ODP Becky, Theatre Manager Clare, Anaesthetist Dr Jayasekara and the expertise of Mr Dimitriou. Only 24 hours post surgery I was able to watch tv and type emails on my phone! Also I would like to thank Mr Dimitriou’s secretary who patiently answered many questions in the weeks leading up to my surgery. Absolutely outstanding care. Thank you, Oaks!

I cannot praise Woodthorpe Hospital enough! I recently attended for day surgery, and from start to finish, my experience was absolutely wonderful. Every member of staff I encountered was friendly, kind, professional and genuinely caring. They made me feel completely at ease, and I felt so well looked after throughout my entire stay. The hospital itself was spotlessly clean, and the level of care and attention I received was exceptional. It's never nice having to undergo surgery, but the wonderful staff made the whole experience so much easier. I felt safe, comfortable and genuinely cared for. A huge thank you to everyone involved in my care. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodthorpe Hospital to anyone. An absolutely fantastic team!

From my initial experience of consultation with the specialist surgeon through to my first operation everything went extremely smoothly. Any worries I had were totally dispelled as all of the staff from reception, the nurses in and outside of surgery were true professionals, focused but interested in helping and explaining the procedures. Exceedingly spotless throughout, rooms and wards glistening!

Exemplary treatment here. Had a cataract surgery, everything explained in layman's terms, all concerns addressed with honesty and professionalism. The staff, from reception to surgeon were brilliant. I'd definitely wouldn't hesitate to choose this hospital again if I need any treatment in the future.

Excellent service - no delays and I was in and out in an hour after a mammogram, breast consultation with the consultant and receiving my results (which have to be checked by the radiographer and the consultant). I arrived on time and found no difficulty finding a parking space. There was no queue at reception and I was seen straight away. I was directed to another clinic 2 minute walk away from reception. There was no queue at the clinic and the nurses directed me immediately to radiology for my mammogram. I waited around 10 minutes for the radiologist to call me in. The radiologist knows me after all these years and was extremely friendly and kind taking care to take the correct pictures. I had to wait around 15 minutes for the results and was immediately shown in to the consultant's office to receive the results and have my breast consultation.

The only thing I would say could improve is physio visit and exercises before surgery to help cope better being non weight bearing,advise re getting up and down from chairs and on and off the toilet as I felt a lit if strain on my non operated keg knee area.
