I had a cataract procedure done at The Woodthorpe hospital in November . Everyone there were very friendly from me walking into reception to leaving after the procedure. Everywhere is also very clean and tidy I was called through within 10 minutes and went through all the pre op procedures and then had the drops put into my eye twice, this took around an hour in total and I was checked on during this time. I was told what was happening all through the process so felt at ease. When taken through for the procedure my consultant told me what would be happening at each stage of the process which was reassuring and the time passed quite quickly. It felt very strange but I didn’t feel any pain at all. I was taken to the recovery room where I was given a hot drink and biscuits and the nurse took me through my aftercare . The whole process took about 2 hours The procedure was a very positive experience for me with a great outcome I can now see perfectly well in that eye and am just hoping to get the other eye done soon! Thank you to all at the hospital

My visit was satisfactory. The hospital is easy to get to and has adequate parking. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Waiting times in my two visits were very short. The waiting areas are very comfortable, clean and tidy. There's a coffee machine and a TV. Overall a pleasant experience.

Cancelled appointment less than 24 hours in advance, when asked they stated that it was for a software upgrade. Surely they would have had ample time to do this before cancelling appointments. Been waiting for this appointment for a very long time and now I am uncertain as to when I will get seen. Update - i have moved my review to due to the caring and professional nature of the nurses that looked after me after my operation. Thank you.

My wife was in today for surgery and the level of care,communication from start to finish was truly worth it from the ward nurse, anaesthetists,surgeon and consultant she came in very anxious about the hole thing but that was soon completely forgotten about. If you have the chance to use duchy for anything you will come away feeling much more positive
