Frequently Asked Questions

Should I shave before the treatment?

Shaving the day before or just prior to treatment is recommended and you may shave again twenty-four hours after treatment unless we tell you otherwise.

Is it safe?

Laser hair removal is the most popular aesthetic procedure performed annually. The Soprano™ treatment has provided safe and effective permanent hair reduction for thousands of patients worldwide. Because Soprano™ utilises IN-MOTION™ and low-heat settings we’re able to provide a level of safety unlike any other laser hair removal procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically, 6 to 8 sessions and additional treatments (top up sessions) are recommended every 6 to 12 months to keep any dormant hairs at bay. The number of sessions will be different from person to person with a minimum of 6 treatments being required.

Will my hair ever grow back?

Actively growing hairs that are treated should not grow back. Once a hair follicle is damaged it cannot grow hair. It is not unusual for patients to have a top up session once every 6 to 12 months, depending on hair type.

Why do I need 6 – 8 treatments?

Hair growth occurs in four stages: Early Anagen (early hair growth), Anagen (active hair growth), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting, not growing). Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage, (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately 25 percent of hair is removed with each treatment. After 6 to 8 treatments, the area should be free from hair. Additional top up sessions are recommended every 6 to 12 months to keep any dormant hairs at bay.

Do I need to arrange time off from work for treatments?

No. Soprano™ has no “down time” and requires no recovery time. You can have a treatment and return to work or other normal activities immediately.

How do I know it really won’t hurt?

Most people find the Soprano™ laser hair removal treatment comfortable, especially when compared with other hair removal methods and lasers. This is one of few laser hair removal procedures where numbing cream is not necessary. Pain is subjective, however, so if you find it otherwise simply tell us.

How much does laser hair removal cost?

The cost of treatments vary by location and body part. However, compared with a lifetime of waxing, Soprano™ laser hair removal is likely to be significantly cheaper in the long term.

Soprano laser hair reduction machine used at Exeter MedicalSoprano XL SHR works in motion, with a sweeping technique that eliminates a common problem of missed or skipped spots. The comprehensive coverage means smooth legs, arms, backs and stomachs for your patients without the pain. In fact, patients have even compared the SHR experience to a hot stone massage. The laser can also treat men’s beards with prices starting from £100.00.

Safe for all skin types
