My early career was spent moving through roles in the NHS where I had started at age 18 as a Ward Clerk. Eight years ago, a colleague approached me regarding an opportunity to bring my experience to Ramsay as they were looking to maximise opportunities to develop services around NHS activity. I joined Ramsay as NHS Business Development Manager for several hospitals in the North West and then progressed to Commercial Manager, developing business opportunities for one particular hospital. From this role, I was promoted to General Manager and for the past three years, I have managed two hospitals. My experience has been supported by Ramsay through participation in various management courses such as PRINCE2 Project management.
As General Manager, I am able to make a real difference to the patient experience every day. I have the role, responsibility and support to deliver tangible changes effectively and without the barriers experienced in some parts of the healthcare sector.
