  • Wow what an amazing experience. I just had surgery with Prof Drew and I couldn’t have been looked after better from the start. Steve Ellis really put me at ease when I was admitted, great humorous guy. All the nurses were fantastic and couldn’t have done more for me. I want to give a special mention to Lisa who cared for me all night. She was so attentive when I was sick and made me the best cup of tea in the morning. My anaesthetist and his assistant (Dr English and Olivia) were so reassuring as I had never been put to sleep before. I had a private room and nothing was too much trouble. I wasn’t rushed to leave the following day. I truly felt like I was in the best place with the best surgeon and team. Thank you Duchy. ❤️

  • Referred for cataract surgery via the NHS. The pre-surgery appointments were very thorough. I was given lots of written information as well. I spoke to Mr Ahmed who carried out both operations. He was very professional and kind. All the people I spoke to did their best to put me at ease and answered my questions. I also appreciated the follow up phone calls 24 hours afterwards and the assurance that I could contact the hospital if I had any problems or worries following surgery.

  • My experience here at The Woodlands was a positive one . Consultant care by Miss Shukla , outstanding and the nurses and all health professionals looked after me with great respect . My surgery went well and pre and post op care was great . Food was great , didn’t have the best appetite but everything looked appetising and decent portions . Well done everyone .

  • My wife has just returned home from a knee replacement operation at New Hall Hospital. She could not have received better treatment. The pre-admission communication was thorough, timely and very clear. The risks and rewards were explained in detail, with ample opportunity to ask questions and obtain more detailed explanations. On the day of the surgery the admission process was seamless, professional and courteous in execution. The theatre team, led by the Consultant Mr Shergill and Dr Swaine, were all friendly and reassuring in addition to their evident professionalism. Those unseen members of the Theatre Team who support the operation must have been equally as good and efficient as, inside the time promised, my wife was up on the ward being looked after by an equally professional team. The staff could not have been more caring and friendly in their treatment, assistance and the management of pain. Equally outstanding were the Physio Team who concentrating on mobility and preparing the patient for the stairs and other obstacles they would meet on returning home. Everything was run at the pace of the patient and fully concentrated on meeting their needs and expectations. What was evident throughout is that New Hall Hospital comprises of a strong team who work together seamlessly and professionally, fully committed to their patients needs

  • Agree with others who reviwed Buckshaw re MRI scan. Was told to expect MRI in 7 days. No appointment was forthcoming so had to phone 3 times before appointment was confirmed. Very difficult to get thro on telephone and twice I was told scan was waiting to be signed off and no appointment could be made until after that. Think this is something that should be looked at as it's very frustrating when you are in severe pain. The actual appointment went very well, Alicia on Reception was lovely and Amy and Emma were most reassuring and answered all my questions about the scan. Gloria Peters
