Employee Case Study
Lloyd Fenech, Support Services Manager, Duchy Hospital, Truro
Operations Manager, Duchy Hospital, Truro
I began my career as a chef, working in restaurants and hotels in the Gloucester area where I then lived. I reached a point where I was looking for a more rewarding environment to utilise my catering skills and wanted to find a position that gave me increased responsibilities. At that time, an opportunity arose for me to join Ramsay as a 2nd Chef, supervising some staff and deputising for the Catering Manager. That was twenty four years ago! Since that first role, Ramsay has provided me with the opportunity to develop and assume increased responsibilities and in turn has recognised and rewarded me for my achievements.
With Ramsay’s support, I have undertaken a wide range of both internal and external training courses covering both technical and managerial skills and have progressed my career through Catering Manager and Hotel Services Manager to Facilities Manager. My current position is Operations Manager where I enjoy the responsibility of managing a diverse range of staff within multiple support services departments.
Motto: The worst decision a manager can make is not to make a decision!
