I travel some distance to visit the hospital (circa 90 miles round trip) as I wanted to stay under the care of my consultant as an NHS patient. It's worth the travelling, not just to stay with my consultant (have been under his care since 2019), but because it's a great hospital service. All the staff are courteous and helpful. I've received treatment on a few occasions over the years and each time it has been a good experience from booking in at reception, all the way through to attendance in a theatre environment where a team of staff assist in administering the procedures. I've had an MRI scan this week and that went very well, the MRI Technicians were brilliant and answered the questions I put to them. On all previous procedures I've received, the team of staff that looked after me from booking-in and doing pre-procedure checks, to the theatre team and consultant have been brilliant. They are there to help with any questions and keeping any fears or worries to a minimum. Once the procedure is completed, the nurses looking after me and organising the discharge details are brilliant too. A slight downside is the shortage of parking spaces at peak times - but sometimes it's just a case of being patient while a space becomes available. I would recommend this hospital as it offers a great environment with a great team of staff !

I went to Fulwood Hall hospital for a bunion correction procedure. The morning of the op, i had to be there for 7:30am, I was greeted with a smile by a nurse and was prepared for surgery, shortly after I was in theatre and introduced to the chaps there who made me feel completely at ease with their friendly chat, I woke up, my foot bandaged and back on the ward with tea and toast. I was given a special boot to wear and shown how to use crutches. I was allowed was home with, do not hesitate to get in touch if you need to, I was back home 3:30 pm that day.

Yesterday I had cataract surgery at Fulwood Hall hospital and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I was very nervous beforehand but everyone I came into contact with was amazing, so calm and reassuring, both the nurses who looked after me prior to going to theatre-Michelle Sandham and Irish Michelle (apologies I don’t know her surname) - were just so lovely and made me feel much more relaxed. Peter who took me to theatre was the same and my surgeon Mr Vose was incredible. The whole procedure went so smoothly, totally painless, Mr Vose explained what was happening all the way through-I cannot fault the whole experience and would highly recommend Fulwood Hall to anyone needing cataract surgery.
