Oaks Hospital has a modern theatre complex comprising four operating theatres with a team of dedicated and competent staff. Three theatres are equipped with a laminar flow system which changes and filters the air in the operating theatres hundreds of times per minute.
The theatres are equipped for a wide range of surgery, including minimal access procedures. They are available for routine and emergency surgery and have 24 hour cover.
The department’s activity is predominately elective surgery and currently operates on the following areas:
Our new 11-bay ambulatory care unit is fully equipped to cater for patients undergoing procedures where a bedroom or overnight stay is not required. The ambulatory environment enables a seamless flow of information and continuous contact between nursing staff and patients throughout their stay.
This facility ensures patients spend a reduced amount of time at the hospital, where clinically appropriate, and can return to their normal activities as soon as possible.
Oaks Hospital has 57 rooms including 3 twin bedded rooms which offer accommodation for parent/child and co-dependent relatives. All patient rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities. Clinical care is provided by a team of dedicated staff led by our Matron, Wards Sisters and Senior Nurses. Care and comfort are the highest priority for our nursing staff, who always offer the highest standards of clinical and personal care.
All patients must be admitted under the care of a Consultant. A Resident Medical Officer is available 24 hours a day for on site medical support.
All patients undergoing major surgery are screened at our Pre-Admission Clinic for MRSA.
