Recovering from surgery at Cobalt Hospital is about more than healing; it's about regaining confidence, rebuilding strength, and returning to the activities you enjoy most. That's where our physiotherapist, Kristi, plays a crucial role.
With more than 15 years of experience in physiotherapy, Kristi is dedicated to supporting patients throughout their recovery journey. After qualifying with a BSc (Honours) Degree in Physiotherapy from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 2010, she gained valuable experience in community and private orthopaedic physiotherapy before moving to the UK in 2015.
Since then, she has worked as a specialist in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist, helping patients recover from injury and surgery.

Supporting Patients Every Step of the Way
Kristi is passionate about helping patients return to their best possible level of function. She works closely with individuals following hand, shoulder, knee and ankle procedures, creating personalised rehabilitation programme designed to restore mobility, strength and confidence.
Every recovery journey is unique, which is why Kristi takes a tailored approach to physiotherapy. By understanding each patient's goals, lifestyle and recovery needs, she can develop a treatment plan that supports long-term success and helps patients get back to the activities they enjoy most.
What to Expect at Your Physiotherapy Appointment
Your first appointment with Kristi will begin with a detailed discussion about your recovery, current symptoms, pain levels, and day-to-day function. This assessment allows her to gain a clear understanding of your individual needs and create a rehabilitation programme tailored to your recovery goals.
Treatment may include:
- Guided exercises to improve movement and mobility.
- Progressive strengthening programs to support recovery and function.
- Advice and education to help manage recovery at home.
- Hands-on manual therapy techniques to improve joint movement where appropriate.
Patients are typically seen one to two weeks after hand, shoulder or knee surgery, and four to six weeks following ankle surgery. Early appointments focus on improving movement and promoting healing, while subsequent sessions concentrate on building strength and restoring function.
Beyond the Clinic
Outside of work, Kristi enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, exploring hills and mountains. She is also a keen runner with a particular passion for fell running. Dedicated to sustainable living, she is committed to reducing her carbon footprint and hopes one day to live in a self-sustaining home.
Helping You Return to What You Love
Kristi is committed to helping you achieve the best possible outcome. Through expert guidance, personalised rehabilitation and ongoing support, she helps patients regain confidence, restore movement and return to the activities that matter most.
