  • I had a GA procedure yesterday and was very impressed with the whole experience. Very friendly care team and the surgeon was extremely clear as to what he intended to do. The only things I was a little disapointed with was the wait time from being admitted at 08:00, but not going into theatre until12:15 (I had expected it not to be so long, so had not brought my mobile phone or a magazine or book) and my wife had taken a day off work to accomapny me whilst i waited for the procedure and also to be with me in the recovery pod. This was not allowed so she could have gone into work for a few hours, to take her mind off my situation. It may be a good idea to point out to patients that the wait time can be quite long, and that nobody is allowed to accompany patients beyond the main reception. Overall, a very nice hospital with lovely, caring staff and surgeon.

  • Agree with others who reviwed Buckshaw re MRI scan. Was told to expect MRI in 7 days. No appointment was forthcoming so had to phone 3 times before appointment was confirmed. Very difficult to get thro on telephone and twice I was told scan was waiting to be signed off and no appointment could be made until after that. Think this is something that should be looked at as it's very frustrating when you are in severe pain. The actual appointment went very well, Alicia on Reception was lovely and Amy and Emma were most reassuring and answered all my questions about the scan. Gloria Peters

  • Had a MRI Scan today 26/01/26. Just like to say I had an outstanding level of care by the girls in the MRI Department. From walking in at the reception, the girls in the MRI was outstanding, caring and very professional. Nothing was to much trouble for them they made everything so relaxed. They are a credit to Buckshaw Hospital. Please pass on my gratitude. Outstanding. JI Cowburn

  • I recently attended this hospital for an out-patient appointment. My first point of contact was Elaine Cain who had a lovely manner and arranged everything for me, following up with email confirmation. The Consultant Mr Pikoulas was again lovely, very informative, thorough and answered any questions I had. Finally the staff in imaging from the Consultant Radiologist who again was lovely in her manner and very reassuring, to the radiographer who chatted to me throughout was so friendly and kind. Thank you to all the staff I encountered on my visit; every staff member I came across smiled. I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

  • Attended an appointment today at the hospital. I arrived early, was seen exactly on time for an echocardiogram. Lovely premises, all staff very friendly and efficient. A really positive experience, I would highly recommend them. Thank you.

  • Wonderful, caring staff, who really do look after you very well. My procedure was carried out efficiently and by the time I left I knew exactly what to expect in the days ahead. Follow up appointments were even made for me. The only downside side was the rather long wait before surgery, which was due to unforeseen circumstances.
