Michael Smith - Physiotherapy Manager

Michael Completed an MSc (Pre-Registration) degree at The University of Essex in 2011. Since qualifying Michael has spent 10 years working with the Military and both The Army and RAF, following this he worked in private practice. Michael joined Oaks Hospital in July 2023.

Charles Pearce - Physiotherapy Technician

Charles is a Physiotherapy Technician at The Oaks. He works in the Inpatient Ward and also carries out Outpatient Classes for patients following hip and knee replacements. Charles has worked at The Oaks since 2022. Prior to this, he worked at Colchester General Hospital as a Physiotherapist Technician for five years.

Charles aspires to undertake his apprenticeship Physiotherapy degree.

Hannah Goldsmith - Physiotherapy Technician

Hannah joined The Oaks in 2020 as a Physiotherapy Technician. She has since gained her BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy through an apprenticeship scheme with Coventry University. Upon qualifying in 2025, Hannah now treats outpatients, as well as working on the inpatient ward. Hannah also holds a qualification in BSc Sport and Exercise Science.

Matt Scannell - Physiotherapist

Matt gained his MSc in Physiotherapy in 2025 at Anglia Ruskin University, and he also holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Performance. He joined The Oaks in 2024 as a Physiotherapy Technician before qualifying as a Physiotherapist. Matt works on the ward and in the outpatient department. Matt also volunteers as a Physiotherapist at the London Marathon and Essex County Cricket Club.

His clinical interests include: musculoskeletal conditions management through tailored rehabilitation and lower-limb interests, including ACL rehabilitation.

Mohammad Al-Rashed - Physiotherapist

Mohammad is a qualified physiotherapist with a BSc in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Roehampton, an MSc in Human and Applied Physiology from King's College London, and an MSc in Physiotherapy (pre-registration) from the University of Essex. 

Mohammad works in outpatients and the inpatient ward. His clinical interests are orthopaedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation including the use of shockwave therapy, ultrasound therapy, manual therapy techniques, and taping. Mohammad enjoys rehabilitation of the elbow, wrist, hand, and fingers; especially climbing related injuries.

Naomi Nevitt - Physiotherapist

Naomi completed her BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree at the University of Essex in 2016. She worked as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the NHS from 2011-2016. Upon qualifying, Naomi worked as a qualified Physiotherapist for the NHS in different settings across the country in different specialities including orthopaedics, amputee rehabilitation, stroke, respiratory, elderly care and women’s health. Naomi started working as a Bank Senior Physiotherapist in 2022 and joined the Oaks permanently in 2023. Naomi is currently studying for her MSc in Medical and Clinical Education.

Her clinical interests include women’s health Physiotherapy, service development in day zero discharges and student/staff education.

Hannah Stokes - Physiotherapist

Since qualifying from Liverpool University in 2007 with a 1st Class BSc (Honours) Physiotherapy degree, Hannah has worked in hospitals across London and Essex. She has worked in various specialities including respiratory, medicine, older people's services, surgery and burns & plastics. Hannah worked as Clinical Lead for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy at Newham University Hospital before joining The Oaks in December 2024 as a part time Senior Physiotherapist specialising in inpatient ward care.

Hannah has a special interest in critical care, respiratory and early rehabilitation following critical illness.

Alix Ludlow - Senior Physiotherapist

Alix gained her Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy at The Middlesex Hospital, London in 1987. She initially completed her junior rotations in local Essex hospitals and then secured a senior Physiotherapist role in 1990. Alix moved to Norfolk and worked in the following specialities: surgery, amputee rehabilitation, paediatrics, cardiac rehab, respiratory/ITU and orthopaedics.

Returning to Essex, Alix worked in the community in the falls prevention team, before joining The Oaks in 2011. Alix works on the inpatient ward. Her clinical interests include orthopaedics and falls prevention.

Marcin Dudziewicz - Physiotherapist

Marcin qualified as a physiotherapist in 2010 after studying for his Masters degree, and has developed his skills as an inpatient and outpatient physiotherapist in a number of settings. He is currently in the process of studying for the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapists (IFOMPT). Marcin has a clinical interest in rehabilitation, including Post-surgery (neck, back, shoulder, hip, knee and foot), along with rehabilitating a wide range of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. Marcin is also particularly interested in the treatment of tendinopathies through the use of manual therapy, taping, electrotherapy modalities (shockwave and ultrasound), along with tailored exercise programmes.
