Rowley Hall Hospital part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is pleased to announce that they have recently treated their 100th day case joint replacement patient, which marks a significant milestone in their orthopaedic service.
Their 100th patient, Philip, underwent his second hip replacement at Rowley, having had his first in February - both as day case procedures. This achievement follows the successful implementation of the Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) pathway, which was designed to deliver faster recovery, earlier discharge, and improved outcomes for patients.
Rowley Hall Hospital is run by Ramsay Health Care UK, one of the leading providers of independent hospital services in England, with a network of 34 hospitals and over 60 years of global expertise in healthcare. The hospital's range of treatments and services include knee and hip replacements, bunion surgery, prostate surgery and varicose vein surgery.
Mr Sabur Malek, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon said, “Offering hip and knee replacements as day case procedures allows patients to recover in the comfort of their own homes, often within hours of surgery. It’s a testament to how far we’ve come in improving outcomes and personalising care.
I sincerely thank all the team members of the hospital for making it successful. 100 day case joints in less than 9 months is an outstanding achievement for any hospital but this is just a beginning. It wouldn't have been possible without the efforts from the patients, so a huge thank you to all our patients for putting their trust in us."
Kerry Falls, Theatre Manager at Rowley shared, "I’m absolutely thrilled to share that today we’ve reached a remarkable milestone – our 100th procedure! This achievement is a testament to my team's unwavering dedication, skill, and teamwork. Every single one of them has played a vital role in making this possible. From meticulous planning and preparation to the compassionate care delivered to our patients, the commitment shines through in everything that they do. It’s not just about the number – it’s about the lives we’ve touched and the standards we’ve upheld along the way.
Let’s take a moment to celebrate this success and reflect on how far we’ve come. I couldn’t be prouder to lead such an exceptional team. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!"
The whole team at Rowley are proud to be delivering consistent patient-centred care and look forward to carrying out the next 100!
