  • The whole experience was very positive. I returned home the following day with little to no pain and was back at work on the fifth week. The hip itself is working great, just wish I hadn’t put myself through so much pain. I waited far to long before getting it done.

  • I cannot find any fault to mention regarding Rowley Hall. From my first visit to see Mr Malek due to arthritis in my hip when he explained that a hip replacement was the best option everything followed seamlessly. My operation was booked I had my pre op assessment then I was admitted for the operation. All the staff were kind and supportive. I saw the surgeon and anaethatist prior to theatre and they explained what would happen. I had sedation via cannula in the theatre and I was asleep before I even had the spinal block..I woke up back in bed. Staff kept checking on me bringing tea and biscuits checking if I was in pain ( my hip was aching but no more that 5/10 much less than the pain before the operation) I was given pain relief and had various other checks. I was amazed that I felt ready to go home less than 24 hours after surgery. I saw the physio who showed me how to use crutches and managed the stairs. I was given leaflets with lots of advice also a direct phone number to ring with any worries which I did use and that was reassuring. At my post op appointment Mr Malek explained the details of the operation and the x-rays I had which was very interesting. It has all been a very positive experience which I would recommend to anyone suffering arthritic pain

  • My hip replacement operation went very well. Small incision and wound healed quickly with no problem. Driving at 3 weeks, cutting grass at 4, walking without stick at 4 weeks (except for longer walks). In first couple of weeks, thigh muscles were fairly sore and they tensed up at times, but off painkillers by 3~4 weeks.
