I am currently due to have a spinal procedure at The Fitzwilliam Private Hospital in Peterborough towards the end of this month. The pre admission appointment was made at that same location. This journey is quite a jaunt & at this time would have exacerbated the chronic back pain I’m in. I appreciate ( on my part) that I didn’t have the initial foresight to change this appointment to the Boston West Hospital ( within the Ramsay Healthcare Group)… I made the phonecall to them and was put through to Helen, the Pre Assessment Nurse there. She was able to fit me in, as her workload permitted it, & communicated the change to her Collegue/s at The Fitzwilliam Hospital. I can’t thank Helen enough, who could see I was stressed & upset… her manner was of the utmost professionalism with a calming friendly manner. Thank you Helen, (& Liz) wholeheartedly from a very grateful patient/service user.

Very nervous patient, was put at ease, staff were excellent, reassuring, calm and friendly.Consultant explained everything clearly. There was even a calm atmosphere in the waiting room. Cannot fault.

Went for assessment appointment as an NHS patient following a referral by my optician. Polite reception staff on arrival. Seen quickly. Time spent with the Consultant appointment, no more than functional. I am also not one for small talk, but all felt a bit rushed. Asking me questions that i'd assume were in my notes or in the referral ? Then : We can do something about it or just leave it "? If, yes the success rate of a procedure. Not told why it may or may not beneficial. Then a consent form handed to me to sign and told it will be a 4 month wait (fine) . Think it could have been a better patient experience. Im not precious but i am sensitive to the care of my vision. Perhaps it was just a Friday.......

Wonderful experience at Boston West. Dr Ahmed and his team were very professional and kind and made me feel at ease, the procedure was explained through every stage and I was well looked after by everyone, à big thank you to all. I would recommend this hospital.

Everything was very good from meeting the team through to the operation itself was excellent. The only downside was when I came round I was in a small room and my friend was trying to put my trousers on me. I managed to spill my tea everywhere then we were seen out but I was not really aware what was going on.
