Admission and Discharge

Coming into hospital can be a worrying time, so by making your stay comfortable we hope to help you relax as much as possible.

Our customer service and clinical staff will answer any queries that you might have throughout your stay and will also provide suitable information for you to take home.

Infection prevention and control

Exeter Medical has strict nursing and cleaning procedures which reduce the risk of infection to very low levels. We would advise you to have a shower or bath with soap on the evening before or on the day of your surgery to further reduce the risk of a wound infection.

There are additional leaflets on healthcare acquired infection (HAI) and MRSA. Please contact us if you would like to see them, or you would like to know anything else about our infection prevention measures

Discharge

You will need to think about your discharge as there may be arrangements that you need to make. We would recommend that you arrange for someone to collect you and take you home from hospital after your surgery.

Information on After Discharge can be found here.
