  • Excellent communications from the start of the process of referral. All staff are very professional and efficient and attentive to the care of the patient and of visitors. There is a lovely atmosphere at the hospital with smiling staff who appear to enjoy their jobs and take pride in offering an excellent service. The hospital is quiet and very clean, with very good parking. The catering provision is very high quality and all the staff who support activities on the ward are helpful and friendly. My mum had spinal surgery and her treatment from the start of her visit to discharge was exemplary. We would thoroughly recommend New Hall hospital, in all respects.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Care from Start to Finish I would like to express my sincere thanks to everyone at New Hall Hospital for the exceptional care I received during my surgery yesterday (24th of June) From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome by the lovely lady on reception,. Check-in at reception was quick and efficient, and I was asked to wait in the reception area until a member of the nursing team came to collect me. Shortly afterwards, I was greeted by Judy, one of the staff nurses who looked after me throughout my stay. She was warm, friendly and welcoming, answered all of my questions, and showed me to my cubicle where I would be based before and after my surgery. The admissions nurse then came to see me and carefully explained everything that would happen during my stay. She told me I would meet both my surgeon, Mr Jonathan Quayle , and the anaesthetist beforehand so they could explain the procedure in detail and answer any questions I might have. Throughout the day, I was kept fully informed about what was happening and given regular updates on the approximate time of my operation. Mr Quayle came to see me, explained the procedure thoroughly, went through the consent form with me, and ensured I was completely happy before proceeding. He answered all of my questions and gave me great confidence going into surgery. The anaesthetist was equally approachable and reassuring, helping me to feel calm and at ease. About an hour and a half later, Paul, one of the theatre staff, came to collect me. He completed the final pre-surgery checks before walking with me to theatre, which was only a short distance away. Once there, I was again greeted by the anaesthetist, who explained exactly what he would be doing before I was put to sleep under a general anaesthetic. Following my operation, I was looked after in recovery by Sarah. She was exceptional kind, caring and compassionate throughout. During my recovery, I experienced a hypoglycaemic episode, and my blood sugar levels dropped, leaving me feeling confused. Sarah recognised what was happening immediately, acted quickly, and reassured me throughout. Her professionalism, compassion and prompt care were greatly appreciated, and I cannot thank her enough. I was then returned to my cubicle, where the nursing staff continued to monitor me closely. My observations and blood glucose levels were checked regularly until everything had returned to normal. Before I left, my discharge paperwork was explained thoroughly, and two nurses kindly escorted me by wheelchair to my car, where my wife and daughter were waiting to take me home. I would also like to acknowledge that this was one of the hottest days of the year. Despite the extreme temperatures, every member of staff remained cheerful, professional and dedicated, providing outstanding care throughout my stay. I cannot praise New Hall Hospital highly enough. Every member of staff treated me with kindness, respect, compassion and dignity, making what could have been an anxious experience feel calm and reassuring. I would not hesitate to recommend New Hall Hospital to anyone requiring treatment. Thank you all for the excellent care you provided.

  • Five-Star Care for My Sacroiliac Joint Fusion I recently underwent right-sided sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion surgery at New Hall Hospital, and I cannot praise the hospital, my surgeon, and the entire team highly enough. From my initial consultation to my discharge, the standard of care was absolutely exceptional. Surgeon Spotlight: Mr. Davies Mr. Davies is a phenomenal surgeon. From day one, he took the time to thoroughly explain the SI joint fusion procedure, managing my expectations and answering all of my questions with incredible patience and clarity. His expertise and reassuring manner gave me complete confidence going into the operation. The surgery was a total success, and I am already feeling the positive difference. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under his care. The Nursing Team & Staff The nursing staff at New Hall Hospital are absolute angels. Post-surgery, they were attentive, deeply compassionate, and on top of my pain management before I even had to ask. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Every single member of the team contributed to my comfortable stay: The Physiotherapists were brilliant, getting me safely on my feet and ensuring I knew exactly how to move to protect my healing joint. The Administration & Admissions Team made the whole check-in and scheduling process completely seamless and stress-free. The Catering & Domestic Staff were lovely, keeping my room spotless and delivering delicious meals with a warm smile. Facilities & Overall Experience The hospital itself feels more like a quiet, clean, and comfortable hotel than a clinical environment, which does wonders for reducing pre-surgery anxiety. Having a private, peaceful space to recover made a massive difference in my early healing stages. Final Thoughts: Major joint surgery can be incredibly daunting, but Mr. Davies and the outstanding team at New Hall Hospital turned it into a smooth, positive, and deeply reassuring experience. If you are considering orthopedic surgery here, you are in the safest possible hands. Thank you all so much!

  • Following an inpatient stay on 02.06.26, I just wanted to pass on a compliment to everyone who took care of me from reception to the nursing team who looked after me pre-operatively, the consultant anaesthetist (sorry name I've not remembered), Mr Verdin and Bob the ODP who took great care in minimising mine and my partners anxiety and of course after undertaking a successful surgery, the care received by the recovery nurses; the heated blanket was most welcome! A special mention to Sally-Anne (RN in charge of my care on the ward) and Rasa (HCA) who were both truly faultless and took great care and patience with me posted operatively when I wasn't feeling at my best. Also, a thank you to the catering team who navigated the uncertainty of whether I would end up staying overnight with the minimalist of fuss and made arrangements for a particular item to made available for tea/take away if I were to be discharged before then.

  • Everyone at New Hall hospital from reception team to Nurses, Consultants, catering, night teams - everyone - has been phenomenal on my recent stay. I was in for a spinal procedure and remained there for 6 days in total due to a small complication that needed to be sorted. Communication with me was excellent in terms of risks, admissions, post op information, complication management and discharge. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the care of the highest quality and the people are the best. Even had a toy box for when my wife and son came to visit. My consultant was excellent in how he communicated with me and with the surgery. It was my second procedure there and both times I have been excellently looked after. The food, even on the NHS allowance, is of very good quality, well presented and delicious. If you are referred here as an NHS patient - you've done well. If you're a private patient - great choice.
