Excellent experience from all the hospital team from receptionists through to admission nurse, theatre nurses and consultant. Could not fault communications before endoscopy procedure, during and after. Staff treated me with such kindness, dignity and genuine care - immediately puts you at ease. I had a cataract procedure done at The Woodthorpe hospital in November . Everyone there were very friendly from me walking into reception to leaving after the procedure. Everywhere is also very clean and tidy I was called through within 10 minutes and went through all the pre op procedures and then had the drops put into my eye twice, this took around an hour in total and I was checked on during this time. I was told what was happening all through the process so felt at ease. When taken through for the procedure my consultant told me what would be happening at each stage of the process which was reassuring and the time passed quite quickly. It felt very strange but I didn’t feel any pain at all. I was taken to the recovery room where I was given a hot drink and biscuits and the nurse took me through my aftercare . The whole process took about 2 hours The procedure was a very positive experience for me with a great outcome I can now see perfectly well in that eye and am just hoping to get the other eye done soon! Thank you to all at the hospital

Had a big toe joint fusion performed at the Woodthorpe Hospital a few days ago. Every member of staff were very professional and friendly, received excellent care. I would highly recommend this hospital.

I had a two night inpatient stay recently after having fairly major surgery at The Woodthorpe Hospital. The individual and quality care I received from my Surgeon, Anaesthetist and Nursing staff made my experience a very positive one. The room was well equipped and the food was good, with every need catered for. Special thanks for making allowances and letting me stay until late in my room on day of discharge. I would definitely recommend this hospital for an overall positive experience.
