  • Knee replacement. I had to choose an hospital that was close to me and covered all my needs. The main ones being the highest ratings and nearby. Woodthorpe hospital covered this and more. Right from my first interaction with the staff, and the correspondence, I was filled with confidence and pleased. A short story long!! Right from my first booking and to the knee operation, all that was laid in front of me was true professionalism, courtesy, kindness and genuinely nice people. From the receptionist to the anesthetist, surgeon and post op care team. These are just a few experiences that I feel I need to share. I am terrified of hospitals and surgery, especially anything to do with needles, or being aware of what is happening around me on a procedure or operation. I mentioned this to one of the team at at woodthorpe hospital, whilst she Was going through my information before my operation. When the anesthetist came in he knew all my worries and exactly how to put me at ease. This was because the team had a repor and communication between each other. The surgeon did an amazing job to the highest standard you would expect. The physio lady just radiated professionalism and to an high standard. The post op care team that was dealing with me, again just topped off my experience with Woodthorpe hospital. Ray and Lucy were about as professional as you could wish to meet in their environments. They demonstrated true charactor, and promoted Woodthorpe hospital to an high standard. Thank you all for a remarkable experience. Derek.

  • Was in and out the same day for a foot operation. The care I received before, during and after the operation has been very good. Staff are very friendly and professional. The room I had for the day was immaculately clean. This is not my first visit and I would choose again in the future.

  • It is a shame that some regions seem to have a more comprehensive service than Nottingham. This was my second cataract and I was fully assessed first time round and it would’ve been very helpful. If that assessment could’ve been used to make a date for the second one would seem to be more efficient I am assuming this is out of your control There was a problem with the submission of my online medical questionnaire, which took a long time but was not retrieved by the staff. If I had to do this again, I would not bother with the online submission, but would use a paper form which seems to be a bit of a regressive step.

  • I had a really positive experience at Woodthorpe Hospital. Paula was brilliant, she was calm, kind and made everything feel under control. Mr John was great too, he was very easy to talk to, reassuring and genuinely lovely to chat with. He was clearly knowledgeable in lots of areas, which made me feel even more confident and at ease. The reception team were fab, friendly,m and helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. Nothing felt rushed or confusing, and I always knew what was happening next. The hospital itself was spotless and really well-organised. Everything felt calm, clean and professional, which made a big difference to how comfortable I felt. Thank you to everyone who made the day feel smooth and supportive.

  • Pre and post op and surgical procedures all excellent along with all the support staff (many thanks to Jenny Epworth). The hospital is clean, well laid out and friendly. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars was the quality of the food which i think could be much improved.
