Duchy Hospital in Truro has unveiled its new, state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheter Laboratory (Cath Lab), following a £1.4 million investment aimed at transforming cardiac care across Cornwall and the South West.
The new facility is equipped with the latest diagnostic imaging and interventional technology, enabling faster, more accurate diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions such as coronary artery disease and heart failure. The investment significantly enhances Duchy Hospital’s capacity to deliver complex cardiac procedures, helping reduce waiting times and bringing expert care closer to home.
Dr Tamas Ungvari, Consultant Cardiologist at Duchy Hospital, said:
