The Duchy Hospital is easy to access with good parking for patients. The Reception staff were helpful and friendly, and were aware of my appointment with the Consultant. My appointment took place at the time specified, and I received a letter from the Consultant later the same day, setting out his observations and the next steps. The efficiency of the whole process was as relaxing as a hospital appointment could be!

The doctor was running late - that possibility had been stated beforehand as the doctor gives as much time as needed for each patient - I certainly didn’t mind.

Duchy Hospital and Ramsay Healthcare have done it again. They set a standard all the others can only aspire to. On the 06/08/2026 I was admitted as a daycare patient at mid-day for an anal operation anxious and depressed and came out at six pm absolutely over the moon. The quality and calibre and motivation of the staff was eye-openingly outstanding. It does not get any better than this. The Rolls Royce of hospitals. Thank you again Ramsay Healthcare. I cannot praise the Duchy highly enough. I have been treated there a few times, and I have just had a spigelian hernia (I hadn't heard of it either!) repaired; whilst relatively straightforward, I have an unrelated cancer and I felt hugely reassured by their approach. The care I received was second to none; from the welcome and being shown into a lovely private room, to the nursing care from Poppy and Chloe and the afternoon/evening nurses, whose names I didn't catch (as was post-op!), the excellent and considerate anaesthetist and his team, and the superb surgeon, Dr May, whose assistant was so helpful and efficient in arranging the operation so speedily. All this, and the most delicious egg mayo sandwiches and tea ever! The Duchy is an incredibly friendly, caring, expert, clean and efficient hospital - thank you !
