Our patients have the right to privacy and to be treated with dignity and respect. We believe that providing same-sex accommodation is a key part of achieving this and allows us to give all of our patients the best possible experience while they are in hospital. 

Ramsay is pleased to confirm that we are compliant with the Government’s requirement to deliver same-sex accommodation, except when it is in the patient’s overall best interest, or reflects their personal choice. 

Sometimes the need for fast effective treatment is greater than the need to provide same-sex accommodation. This might happen if you need urgent, highly specialised or high-tech care. On these occasions, it is acceptable for men and women to be treated together and our staff will keep you informed and move you to same-sex accommodation as quickly as possible. 

Our staff are keen to listen to your comments, so if you have any concerns about privacy and dignity please do not hesitate to let us know.
