Training & Background

Karen qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1990 at the University of West Indies and attained a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy. Karen worked in elite sport as a team physiotherapist for the Jamaican Squad at the Commonwealth Games, World Athletics Championships and Sydney Olympics as well as the team physiotherapist for the National Cricket Team.

Karen set up her private practice in the UK where she worked for 10 years treating a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, trauma and post-operative orthopaedic conditions.

Karen joined the Rivers 11 years ago and is the Women’s Health specialist, having completed numerous post-graduate courses in Women’s Health Physiotherapy and Pilates. Karen has access to state of the art equipment at the Rivers which she uses for assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor and can treat pelvic floor dysfunction, musculoskeletal pain in pregnancy and post-operative gynaecological patients.

Karen is a fair-weather golfer and enjoys Pilates in her spare time
