Miss. Shahrnaz Izadi BSc Hons, MBChB, MRCOphth, FRCOphth, is a UK Medical graduate, with degrees in Medicine from the University of Manchester and in Physiology from University College London. During the latter degree she studied the Neurobiology of Vision and undertook research at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London. She has trained in ophthalmology at a number of leading and prestigious tertiary ophthalmic centres, including St Paul's Eye Unit in Liverpool and The Oxford Eye Unit. She completed her fellowship training in medical retina and uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital London. Miss. Izadi also has first-hand experience of working within the ophthalmic pharmaceutical industry and has a keen interest in clinical trials and research. She has gained ample clinical trial experience and has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and has presented both at the national and international level. She is interested in new innovations and treatment modalities for medical retinal disorders. Her areas of interest and expertise are in General Ophthalmology, Medical Retina conditions, including Age Related Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy, Diabetic Macular Oedema, Retinal Vein Occlusions and Uveitis (Inflammatory eye conditions). She is currently a substantive Consultant at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust and is the Lead for Diabetic Maculopathy as well as the Retinal Lead. She has undertaken multiple departmental Audits in management of Diabetic Maculopathy and Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration and is a Principal Investigator in Clinical Trials.
