Mr Leo Cheng is a Consultant in Oral, Maxillofacial and Head & Neck Surgery at St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London and Homerton University Hospitals. He qualified in Dentistry as BDS from Edinburgh in 1985 and obtained the Diploma of Fellowship of Dental Surgery in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine, Royal College of Surgeons of England, in 1990. Mr Cheng then went on to qualify in Medicine as MBChB from Birmingham in 1991, and attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow in General Surgery in 1995. He was awarded Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999 after obtaining the intercollegiate FRCS in Maxillofacial Surgery. In July 2006, he was awarded LLM (Master in Law) in medical practice from the University of Wales, and also became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Now, Mr Cheng is the lead course organiser for the London Deanery for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a clinical lead at Homerton University Hospital in East London. Apart from being a designated cancer surgeon for skin, thyroid, head and neck regions, Mr Cheng also takes an active part in the tumour advisory panel in all three cancer types.
