Academic Background
Mohammed Hamdan qualified in 2005 from The University of Jordan, Amman. Following this, Mr Hamdan came to the UK and underwent basic surgical training in Southampton followed by higher surgical training in the Bristol region. During this time, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2010 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2018. After completing his surgical training he was awarded with a CCT in General Surgery with sub-specialty interest in Upper GI surgery. He subsequently underwent a post CCT fellowship in Bariatric and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading between 2019 and 2021. During this period, he developed expertise in all forms of Bariatric surgery, minimally invasive gallbladder, hernia and anti-reflux surgery and upper GI endoscopy. Since then, he has been appointed as a substantive Consultant Emergency, UGI and Bariatric Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading in October 2021.
