There’s cause for celebration at West Midlands Hospital in Halesowen, as the team marks an incredible milestone — 100 successful joint replacement surgeries using the advanced CORI® Robotic Surgical System.
Launched in March 2025, CORI® robotic system has transformed the way hip and knee replacements are performed. This innovative technology provides robotic assistance for knee replacements and precision navigation for hip replacements — allowing surgeons to tailor each procedure to the patient, with remarkable accuracy and improved recovery outcomes.
Although the hospital has been performing navigated joint replacements for over 15 years, CORI® robotic system represents a major step forward in surgical innovation for the region.
Renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon Professor Edward Davis, who has been leading the way in navigated surgery at West Midlands Hospital, said:
