Clifton Park Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is proud to announce it has been awarded an overall rating of 'Good' following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This exemplary achievement reflects the hospital’s hard work, dedication, and commitment of every team member in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care.
The CQC inspection team commended Clifton Park Hospital for its strong performance across key domains of care with compassionate staff, effective treatment services, and strong clinical leadership. The inspection in October focused on the surgery, outpatients, diagnostics and screening services at the hospital, and the report highlighted how the hospital delivered excellent person-centred care to patients.

The CQC inspectors noted that the hospital demonstrated an inclusive and positive culture of learning and improvement, supported by proactive leadership and in particular that the collaboration with partners ensured care was safe, integrated, person-centred, and sustainable, with a focus on reducing health inequalities.

Clifton Park Hospital was rated ‘Good’ across all domains of Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led care for Surgery, Diagnostics and Outpatients. The inspectors praised the hospital’s commitment to investment and modernisation, reflecting focus on high quality care and patient comfort. Patients reported being treated with kindness, dignity and respect. The hospital also maintained good infection control standards, achieved ANTT Silver accreditation, and demonstrated strong, supportive leadership, fostering a positive culture of learning and improvement.

Key highlights from the report include:
- Senior leaders investigated incidents thoroughly to improve care for people and shared learning both internally and externally.
- The service had facilities and equipment that met people’s needs, which were clean and well-maintained.
- The service had enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Managers made sure staff received training and regular appraisals to maintain high-quality care.
- Staff managed medicines well and involved people in any changes.
- Staff worked well with partner organisations, so people had a smooth transition when they moved between services.
- Staff made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent.
- People scored the hospital highly across all aspects of their experience, including cleanliness, staff confidence, communication and compassionate care.

Clifton Park Hospital, part of Ramsay Health Care UK, is a leading provider of diagnostic and procedural services in North Yorkshire. Established in 2006, it delivers clinical excellence and compassionate care to both NHS and private patients, covering the full pathway from outpatient consultation and diagnostic imaging to surgical treatment and recovery. In 2018, Clifton Park Hospital expanded its outpatient provision, adding 11 consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, x-ray facilities, and additional car parking to improve accessibility and patient experience.

Committed to tackling local health inequalities, Clifton Park works in partnership with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (YSTHFT) to implement a pioneering insourcing initiative to improve access to NHS orthopaedic care for local patients. This partnership has led to Clifton Park Hospital being shortlisted for the Best Elective Care Recovery Initiative at the 2026 HSJ Partnership Awards, recognising the collegiate relationship with the NHS Foundation Trust and Clifton Park Hospital’s dedication in the relentless pursuit of innovation and joined up working that truly makes a difference in patient care.
