An update on how we communicate with you


At Ramsay Health Care UK, we are committed to keeping you informed about your care in a way that is clear, timely and convenient for you.

We have recently updated how we communicate with our patients. Alongside traditional letters, we now make greater use of digital communication, such as email and text messages, so that important information reaches you in the most effective way.

This change has been introduced with our patients firmly in mind, and it does not affect the quality or safety of your care.

 

Why we’ve made this change

Our updated approach to communication supports three key priorities:

Your preferences

We recognise that everyone communicates differently. By using the contact method you have told us you prefer, we can tailor our communications to what works best for you, whether that’s email, text message or post.

Faster, more reliable communication

Digital communication allows important information, such as appointment details and updates, to reach you more quickly and securely. This helps reduce delays and ensures you receive the right information at the right time.

Caring for our environment

Where appropriate, using digital communication helps reduce paper use and waste, supporting more sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.

 

What this means for you

  • You will continue to receive clear and accurate information about your care
  • If you have told us how you prefer to be contacted, we will use that method
  • If you haven’t specified a preference, we will normally use digital communication
  • If digital communication is not suitable for you, or you prefer letters by post, this option remains available

Our priority is to ensure you feel informed, supported and reassured at every stage of your patient journey.

 

Recognising genuine communication from Ramsay

We understand how important it is to trust the messages you receive.

  • Emails will be sent from Ramsay Health Care UK
  • Text messages (SMS) will come from RAMSAY

To protect your information, when accessing a digital letter you will be asked to enter your date of birth in DDMMYYYY format e.g., 06121974. Please don't use any . : / between the numbers as this will not allow you to access the document.

 

Keeping your details up to date

Although we follow a digital‑first approach, we want to make sure we always communicate with you in the right way.

You may be asked to confirm or update your contact details and communication preferences when you attend the hospital or speak with a member of our teams.

You can change your preference at any time.

Keeping your details up to date helps us support you more effectively throughout your care.
