As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in clinical care and healthcare delivery, Ramsay Health Care UK is delighted to announce that all 25 hospitals providing endoscopy services have now achieved Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation. This marks a major milestone in our organisational focus on delivering consistently high‑quality care and outcomes for our patients across Ramsay UK.
Hosted by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) is the leading accreditation body for endoscopy services across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Its remit includes setting nationally recognised benchmarks for endoscopic competence, assessing the quality of endoscopy units and training, and ensuring services meet rigorous safety and performance criteria.
JAG accreditation is the formal recognition that an endoscopy service meets these exacting standards, demonstrating the delivery of safe, high‑quality and patient‑centred care by a skilled, well‑supported and motivated workforce. This is the highest level of recognition and accreditation of endoscopy services in the UK.
Ramsay UK is now the first, and only, independent sector provider to have all 25 of its endoscopy units accredited - a notable achievement for the organisation, and a testament to the dedication of our teams in providing the highest quality care. This success reflects the hard work and leadership of endoscopy teams across the country, who continue to prioritise safe, effective and compassionate care for every patient.
Beverley Raven, National Endoscopy Clinical Lead and Medical Devices Safety Officer, Ramsay UK said:
“As the National Clinical Lead for endoscopy I feel very proud and honored to be part of this fantastic achievement. It has been a privilege to lead and coach endoscopy teams with differing levels of experience to become accredited and for all Ramsay UK hospitals to display the JAG accreditation mark which signifies compliance, efficiency and patient safety”.
Dr Mark Jarvis, JAG Accreditation Chair said:
“A phenomenal achievement. This accreditation reflects Ramsay’s sustained commitment to continuous improvement against nationally recognised standards. Congratulations.”
Madeline Bano, JAG Programme Manager, said:
“Achieving JAG accreditation is a hallmark of high-quality, patient-centred endoscopy services. We congratulate Ramsay on meeting these rigorous requirements and on the assurance this gives to patients and staff across their endoscopy units.”
Jo Dickson, Chief Clinical and Quality Officer, Ramsay UK said:
“We are incredibly proud of the teams for the outstanding standard they have achieved, and for the dedication and hard work shown throughout the accreditation process. A huge congratulations to everyone involved!”
