I recently attended Ashtead Hospital for a small operation funded by the NHS, & could not fault the level of service provided by everyone I met, from reception staff, pre-assessment nurses, general nursing staff, pharmacist, anaesthetist, theatre staff & general surgeon. Everyone took the time to explain what was going to happen & the level of care & professionalism was exceptional!! I would definitely recommend to family & friends, as I believe this is how health care should be! A special mention to Gill, who took care of all my nursing needs on the day, Bravo!!

Just had a Trigger Thumb release procedure. Nothing major. Although it was done through the NHS, you can’t fail to be impressed by the overall experience at The Woodlands. The staff from the Consultant, to the Domestics are all so accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble and you’re not treated like an inconvenience. Aftercare is explained fully by (in my case), 2x Nurses separately, a Physio and Consultant. Special thanks to Mr Shukla and Staff Nurse Tatyana. I appreciate NHS facilities are stretched to breaking point in the current climate. However the difference between this and the local General Hospitals is like comparing a Spa Hotel to a Butlins Camp. Many thanks to all. Kindest regards Steve

I had an ultrasound guided hip injection today with Dr George Tony and his really excellent nurse. It was an example of outstanding care I was seen on time, the hospital was very clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful The nurse looking after me was fantastic… she was so kind, caring and friendly… she put me at ease. Dr Tony was a fantastic radiologist who took his time to explain the procedure and aftercare and made sure the procedure was comfortable I cannot thank you both enough

I had a large sebaceous cyst on my scalp (which I nicknamed “my unicorn horn!) and two skin tags on my lower eyelids removed by Mr Andrew Wilson at Exeter Medical. He explained everything that he was doing throughout the procedure and gave me plenty of time to ask questions. He was very gentle and thorough and the nurses assisting, Mandy and Rena, were so lovely and friendly and looked after me very well. The procedure itself was remarkably stress free and I experienced very little discomfort apart from the initial sting of the local anaesthetic, which surprised me as I was expecting it to be painful in such a delicate area. As well as 3 internal stitches in my scalp I had 4 external stitches and these were removed at my GP surgery today. The scars on my eyelids are almost invisible now (and I had hardly any swelling or bruising after the skin tags were cut away). The scar on my head is very neat and again is barely visible through my hair. I am delighted that I chose Exeter Medical: the whole process, from consultation through to booking the appointment and being discharged, was easy and smooth and the results were exactly what I had hoped for. It is a great shame that these procedures are no longer available in the NHS but for me they were well worth paying for, especially as I chose the interest-free loan to pay by instalments which made it manageable. Thank you so much once again to all the team!

I cannot thank Karen Nichols, the private patients manager, enough for all of her help, kindness and support throughout my treatments. From the very beginning, she was professional, approachable and incredibly reassuring, always taking the time to answer questions promptly and make sure everything ran smoothly. Her communication was excellent and she genuinely went above and beyond to make what could have been a stressful situation feel far more manageable. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and her calm, caring manner made a real difference. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated to providing outstanding patient care and support. A true credit to the team, and I’m extremely grateful for everything she has done.

Had my full knee replacement on 7/5/2026 at wood thorpe amazing place brilliant staff I was reassured at every stage of my procedure cannot praise the staff highly enough thanks again
