Mr Dominic Nielsen (FRCS Tr. and Orth.) graduated from St Georges Hospital London, and undertook his Orthopaedic training in South East England.

He is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at St George’s Hospital, London with special interests in foot and ankle surgery and complex trauma reconstruction. Since starting there in 2008 he has built a well-established service both for the local population and a tertiary referral service for complex problems. His interests include foot and ankle arthritis, bunions, heel pain, Achilles problems, forefoot pain, ankle instability and ankle and foot fractures.

He is a firm believer in the importance of educating the future generation of surgeons and, having worked in roles at The Royal College of Surgeons and been Director of Orthopaedic Training in South London for the last 6 years, is now Deputy Head of the School of Surgery with NHS England.

He has written papers on a range of trauma and foot and ankle subjects including being a lead investigator involved in award winning international studies into the treatment of arthritis of the big toe joint. He has presented and published his work both nationally and internationally.
