Dr Archer sees adult and paediatric patients. He has a special interest in skin cancer and dermatological surgery and the use of lasers as well as complex medical dermatology. He consults on all aspects of general dermatology including acne, acne scarring, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, urticaria, excessive sweating, hair and nail disorders, genital skin disorders and benign and malignant skin lesions.

His research interests include skin ageing, stem cell research techniques and the role of gene therapy, and the immunopathogenesis of eczema. He completed a Masters Degree at University of Oxford and the Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine looking at a role of the immune system in the development of eczema. He practices evidenced based medicine and is actively involved in the recruitment for clinical trials for emerging treatments. He is passionate about medical education and lectures at both the University of Oxford and Reading University.
