After qualifying from Nottingham University, Mr Achal Khanna completed his training in Adelaide and Leicester. He has sub-specialised in Upper GI surgery with a focus on benign diseases, laparoscopic and general surgery. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2014 and undertook novel research into Nitric oxide and endothelial dysfunction in Australia. This thesis resulted in multiple Royal College prizes and he was also awarded the prestigious 'Queen Elizabeth Research Foundation scholarship,' for his work. He is the only Upper GI surgeon in Milton Keynes and has a substantive post at Milton Keynes University Hospital. He also has extensive experience with laparoscopic surgery namely cholecystectomies, all types of hernia surgery and anti-reflux surgery. He also performs diagnostic and therapeutic Upper GI endoscopy. In addition to his clinical commitments Mr Khanna is thoroughly engaged in research activities and has published many research papers and has lectured widely and internationally.
