Academic Background

Mr. Mannan is a highly skilled specialist in hip and knee surgery, with many years of experience of surgical techniques, including hip and knee replacement and lower limb arthroplasty. He studied medicine at King’s College London and completed his specialist training on the Royal London Hospital rotation, spending a year at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore on the Peripheral Nerve Injury unit.

In addition to his training, Mr. Mannan undertook a bespoke fellowship in Hip & Knee Arthroplasty to further enhance his knowledge and skills, with Prof. G Scott at the Royal London Hospital.

In 2010 Mr. Mannan moved to Yorkshire and was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Alongside his post, he was appointed as Deputy Clinical Director for Trauma and Orthopaedics in Scarborough from 2014 to 2020.

Mr. Mannan is a keen educator of orthopaedic trainees, and went on to win the Train The Trainer award in 2013.
