Clinical interests

1- I have extensive experience in the management of hyperlipidaemia and hypercholesterolaemia, having worked in several eminent hospitals across the UK, including St Thomas’ and Guy’s Hospital in London, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, and Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. My clinical work and research have focused on the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, with a strong emphasis on lipid disorders and cardiovascular risk reduction.

2-  A second major area of my clinical and academic interest is calcium and metabolic bone disorders. I am deeply involved in the management of complex conditions related to calcium metabolism, hypo and hyperparathyroidism.

3- I have a great interest in the bone remodelling process, I am one of the few medical consultant in the country who has been using bone remodelling markers in the management of complicated osteoporosis, osteopetrosis, and Paget’s disease of bone. 

4- I also have a particular interest in electrolyte disorders, especially chronic hyponatraemia, hypomagnesaemia, and hypophosphataemia and familial hypophosphatasia.
